SEO Trends 2023: 4 SEO Trends To Try On Your Website This Year

SEO Trends of 2023

As we move into 2023, it’s time to start thinking about the SEO trends shaping the coming year. The nature of search engine optimization is one of constant change and flexibility, so what works today might not work tomorrow. This can make it challenging to keep up with the latest trends and technologies that ensure your website is up to snuff.

New technologies, Google updates, and strategies are constantly being introduced, meaning it’s beneficial to keep up with the latest trends in order to rank highly in search engine results. However, SEO is not just about following the latest trends – it’s also about understanding how search engines work and what users are looking for. Knowing what’s trending is useless if you don’t understand the trends in the context of what that means for your website.

The good news is Cadence is here to help. Our experts have compiled a list of SEO trends to keep an eye on. In this post, we’ll take a look at four current SEO trends and determine if they could be useful for your marketing strategy.

Chat GPT

Chat GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is an innovative chatbot introduced in late 2022 by tech startup, Open AI. It is innovative in that it is widely considered the most imperceptible AI generator to date. It uses complex algorithms and large amounts of data to mimic human speech and interaction. It can interact with users conversationally, reject inappropriate requests, and provide answers to questions on a variety of topics.

So what does this mean for SEO?

ChatGPT is a mixed bag for SEO. On the one hand, it presents an opportunity to automate menial tasks and save time. ChatGPT makes tasks like keyword research and analysis, writing product descriptions, and creating titles much faster and easier. It can be conducive for SEO as it can be used to create unique content at scale, which is a major challenge for many companies.

On the other hand, ChatGPT has many limitations. ChatGPT does not understand your website or industry like a human would. It cannot answer complex questions about content or link-building strategies. While it can be a handy AI, ChatGPT has restricted information to draw from. We recommend using ChatGPT with caution since any information given in response to a query may be outdated or inaccurate. It also carries the potential to create plausible-sounding but nonsensical answers to queries.

AI Image Generation

AI image generation is a new trend in SEO, and it seems to be one that will stick around. With AI image generation, you can create images that look as if they were created by hand—but a computer actually generated them.

AI image generation can be incredibly useful in SEO because it allows you to generate visuals for your website that are both proprietary and royalty-free. These tools can create everything from simple product images and renders to photorealistic 3D scenes and stock images. Overall, AI image generation is an exciting trend with lots of potential in the SEO space.

Of course, there are also some disadvantages to using AI image generation. Firstly, it can be expensive to get started, as you’ll need access to powerful computers and software. Secondly, there’s a learning curve involved in using these tools effectively. And finally, some people worry about the potential ethical implications of artificial intelligence becoming involved in creative pursuits.

AI & Content Writing Software

AI and content writing software are both emerging trends in SEO. AI is a form of artificial intelligence that allows computers to learn without being explicitly programmed, while content writing software is a tool that helps you write content for your website.

Content writing software can also be helpful in SEO because it takes away some of the grunt work involved in writing content. The software allows you to simply plug in keywords and phrases into the software, and it will generate keyword-rich paragraphs based on those entries. You can then copy and paste these sentences directly onto your website or use them as inspiration for creating more original content yourself. Additionally, this kind of software allows you to focus on other aspects of SEO such as link building and social media marketing, without worrying about allocating time towards writing.

The thing to remember with any content you put on your site is that you should always focus on ensuring any content you produce creates value for your end user. SERPs like Google don’t necessarily care how your content is produced, so long as it fits within terms of service, and provides accurate, up to date information.

As we’ve previously discussed with ChatGPT, this can be a a challenge when using content writing software or AI exclusively. When it comes to AI content generation, we recommend a hybrid approach. Use AI as a starting point or writing aid, not a crutch.

EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trust)

EEAT is a combination of four factors that Google takes into account when evaluating your website for ranking. It’s a model that was released in late 2022, and is an extension of the EAT model that was previously developed by Google.

So what are these four factors?

  • Experience refers to how much knowledge and expertise you have about a specific topic.
  • Expertise refers to how many people have rated your website as being trustworthy or credible.
  • Authority is determined by your influence over others in your industry, based on areas like social media following and number of links pointing back to your site.
  • Trust is an indication that people trust what they’re reading on your website, which can be measured by bounce and conversion rates.

The EEAT model helps Google understand the quality of your website and whether or not it’s a good candidate for ranking. The idea is that websites with all four factors will be more relevant and trustworthy than those without.
